The American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) are a series of prestigious math contests organized by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) for middle school and high school students, typically from Grades 6–12, designed to test problem-solving skills and mathematical reasoning, and serving as a pathway to higher competitions such as the AIME and the USA Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO).
The AMC 10 specifically is a 25-question, 75-minute multiple-choice contest for students in grade 10 or below. A high enough score qualifies a student for the AIME.
